Ive just been contacted by the people developing the wind farm in long gully station.

The main reason im posting the email here is because there are a number of people that ride accross the long gully property over to karori and they may want to have a say to maintain this access.

The Wellington Mountain bike club will be sending a couple of representatives along to see whats going on and how any of the plans may affect the section of property our club use's.

WINDFLOW TECHNOLOGY LTD have been working with Steve Watson (Long Gully property owner) on a potential wind farm. We now have an initial plan with information on the turbine layout, and what the likely effects would be, that we are starting to talk to people about and get their feedback on.

We would also be happy to meet with any interested members of the mountain biking community who use Long Gully to go through the proposal, hear your thoughts, and discuss any concerns or questions you may have. We’re also holding a couple of information evenings for the general public which we’d encourage anyone interested to come along too.

Public information evenings with further information, displays, presentations and the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments will be held from 5.30 – 8pm:

Tuesday 18 November 2008, Brooklyn Resource Centre, 36 Jeffersons Road, Brooklyn

Wednesday 19 November 2008, St Ninians Uniting Parish, Cnr Newcombe Cres and Karori Rd, Karori

Look forward to hearing from you all.

Thanks
